Interior Stair & Landing Glass Railings — Queens, NY
NYC All Glass replaced a solid balustrade with a frameless glass railing around the stair landing of a Queens home, set beneath a skylight so daylight reaches straight down the stairwell instead of stopping at a wall.

Letting Natural Light Reach Every Floor
This Queens home has a stair landing that sits directly beneath a large skylight, the kind of space that should feel bright and open but often gets boxed in by a heavy wood or iron railing. The homeowners wanted the light from above to actually reach the stairs and the floor below, so NYC All Glass fabricated custom frameless glass panels set into a matching wood cap rail around the landing and the stairwell opening.
The result is a landing that feels wide open: the gold pendant chandelier hangs straight down through the stairwell, the French doors and windows on the far wall stay visible from the stairs, and daylight from the skylight carries all the way down instead of stopping at a solid wall.

Why It Works for This Home
Custom-Fit Panels
Every panel was measured and fabricated to follow the exact landing and stairwell opening for a seamless, gap-free fit.
Matched to Existing Trim
Glass panels paired with a matching wood cap rail so the new railing complements the home’s existing millwork and paneling instead of fighting it.
Code-Compliant Safety
Tempered glass and railing heights built to residential code, so the open look doesn’t come at the expense of safety around the stairwell.
